Connecting journeys, sharing costs, building community
It began with a frustration we've all felt.
We remember standing on a freezing train platform, watching the departure board flick from "Delayed" to "Cancelled," knowing the ticket price alone had already eaten a hole in our weekly budget. We remember the buses that took three times as long to travel a few miles, costing more every year for a service that felt less reliable every day. For the passenger, travel had become a source of anxiety—too expensive, too slow, and often, a gamble.
At the exact same moment, on the road running parallel to those train tracks, a driver was sitting in traffic. But they weren't feeling free; they were feeling the pinch. With fuel prices skyrocketing, insurance premiums climbing, and maintenance costs soaring, the simple necessity of owning a car was becoming a financial impossibility.
The irony was heartbreaking.
Here in the UK, our towns are stitched closely together, often just a few miles apart. Every morning, thousands of drivers commute from one town to the next, staring into a rearview mirror at three or four empty seats. They are driving alone, shouldering 100% of the cost, while passing bus stops filled with people desperate for a ride.
We realized the solution wasn't more buses or wider tracks. The solution was already on the road.
An idea was born.
What if we could simply connect the two? What if the driver heading from A to B could fill those empty seats with the passengers heading the same way?
That is why we built Qruuze. We exist to bridge the gap between the lonely, expensive drive and the stranded passenger. By matching local hosts with local travelers, we turn a burden into a shared benefit. Drivers cover their running costs, passengers get a comfortable, affordable ride, and together, we take cars off the road to help the planet.
Our Mission
To fill every empty seat, making travel more social, affordable, and sustainable for everyone.
Because the journey is better when we share it.
Be part of a community that's changing how we travel, one shared journey at a time.
